Munjya is a 2024 comedy horror Hindi film directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The film is based on Indian folklore and mythology, specifically centered around the legend of Munjya, a monstrous and childlike spirit. It follows the story of a young man, Bittu (played by Abhay Verma), whose life is disrupted by the vengeful spirit Munjya, who seeks to get married to a girl named Munni.
The film stars Sharvari, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, and
Sathyaraj. Sharvari portrays the character of Bella/Munni.The screenplay was
developed by Yogesh Chandekar and Niren Bhatt. The film was theatrically
released worldwide on June 7, 2024, and later made its OTT debut on Disney+
Hotstar.
